This 2003 Citizen Cincom Swiss Autotmatic features cross machining when required, three cross spindles (standard on type VIII model) can be mounted, totaling eighteen tools: five turning, seven rotary, and six drilling tools.
The three cross spindles can also be used as end-face drilling spindles by rotating the holder 90 degrees.
When end-face machining is required on the front and back, an optional six live tool holder is available. With this tool holder option the L20 now totals 21 tools: five turning, ten rotary, and six drilling tools.
Other L20 improvements:
- The work area access door has been widened, enabling easier access to the tooling
- More power to the coolant pump with a larger capacity tank
- The chip tank itself and its access door has been increased for longer continuous cutting plus reduces the operator frequency to remove chips
- Lubrication of the ball screws and ways is now automatic, which improves machine maintenance and performance
